Stock Doves have come to the garden in recent years years, but can be confused with Wood Pigeons. Stock Doves are smaller and less bulky than Wood Pigeons, are more dominantly dark blue-grey and have iridescent neck-bands but no white neck-band and no white wing patches as Wood Pigeons have (See comparative photos). They also have a black eye. Seed eaters, they feed mostly in the ground and are the bane of many farmers’ lives. Conditions: A beautiful sunny day. Temperature: Max 14- Min 11C.
