The finale in the Coot mini-drama! The long-established Coot’s nest has been taken over by Moorhens this year so the Coot is building another, near the path through Encliffe Park. Not deterred, the Coot keeps returning to its old nest which has been built up further by the Moorhens (including snack-packets, as you will see), fighting off the Moorhens and carrying off twigs for its own new nest. Restorative justice of a sort, I guess. Conditions: Mild, less windy but with lots of rain. Temperature: Max 10- Min 6c.
